The death-defying daredevils, strapping super heroes and scantily-clad starlets, fearless animal trainers and startling freaks gripped the imagination. “ We were inspired by the Venuses of the golden age of the Circus with the female performer emancipate against strange wild beasts from foreign lands. It was the spectacle of all the wonders of the world presented for the first time with its grit and glamour both mystifying and beautiful as well as terrifying and sensational. “ The adventure and absurdity is explored through a very colourful and bright collection with all hues of the rainbow mixed with metallic white and black. French lace imitates patterns of the trapeze, while the prints are based on the carved elegant chariots containing the finest specimens of lions, tigers, wolves, bears, panthers, leopards and hyenas. Soft chiffon is draped from a net of stars and new techniques and material are explored through leather craftsmanship, crystal metal mesh and couture beading.
