Star maps are overlaid with imagery from Zodiac and ancient mythology. “ Our muse for this collection is the divine nymph Urania, daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Draped in incandescent heavenly gowns; she embodies the universal love and the Holy Spirit as she prognosticates the future in an infinite ocean of stars and galaxies. We wanted this collection to evoke sentiment to the mysteries and wonders of the cosmos with our heroine manifesting her father’s majesty and power and the beauty and grace of her mother.” Sparkly tulle and luminous crystals are metaphors for the multiverse that draws our eyes to the starry night. Black velvet connects us to the dark matter and mirrors the vastness of astronomical worlds without end. Heavenly feathers epitomize the immortal goddess of ethereal existence, while French lace patterns compass the arrangements of the zodiac on the earth’s orbit with the celestial sphere. Shiny sequins represent the solar system and planetary bodies held together by gravity and mutual attraction. The printed floaty dresses illustrate Jamieson’s otherworldly maps of the sublime.
